Hello All! This is a little bit of a different post because it isn’t going to be all about me. It’s going to be about an organization that directly effects me and many others! The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (CCF) is an advocacy and fundraising organization. From their website, “The mission of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation is to cure Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.

The Foundation sponsors basic and clinical research of the highest quality. We also offer a wide range of educational programs for patients and healthcare professionals, while providing supportive services to help people cope with these chronic intestinal diseases. These programs are supported solely through our donors, grants, fundraising efforts, and sponsors.” I have recently started supporting this organization in an effort to help myself and others. Invisible disease like IBD tend to be forgotten about when it comes to finding and research. This organization shines a light on the disease and allows for different avenues of support. The support I’ve received from this organization, whether directly through education or indirectly through the progress they’ve made in the treatment of my disease has been amazing. And as Gods timing tends to work, they have a fundraiser going on right now! The goal is for our team of supporters to “Walk across America stopping at each headquarters for the CCF”. This gives my morning walks and walks with Avery an additional purpose. If you have the ability to support the fundraiser my personal link is http://online.crohnscolitisfoundation.org/goto/aSimms. I also have it linked to my Facebook page! You’ll be able to follow along as I walk my miles, and maybe when it ends on August 22nd I’ll be able to run some! As always, the support is appreciated!

With Love,

Andy
